The staff of St. Joseph’s Youth Camp is essential in creating our magical and transformative camp experiences.

St. Joseph’s Youth Camp is a beautiful, historical place where our campers, counselors, and staff can be themselves and make lifelong memories. Many staff members were campers at SJYC and now, stay connected to camp for the rest of their lives.

SJYC staff members have more than just “a job and a paycheck” at the end of the summer. Working with us is a tremendously rewarding and life-changing experience! You will make a positive impact on children and excel in teaching skills while developing leadership, strengthening teamwork and collaboration abilities, and learning other workplace skills to help you beyond life at camp.

Many staff members look back on their time at SJYC as the best or the most important, transformational job they have ever had.

Our Hiring Process

Applications for summer staff positions at SJYC are accepted on a rolling basis until December 1, 2024. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of our campers and CITs, we encourage you to apply (application below)! If we think you may be a great fit after reviewing your resume, we will contact you to schedule an interview.

Our interview process will take place virtually on Saturday, December 14th. Each candidate will participate in a 10-15 minute interview, during which you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills and enthusiasm for working at our camp. To help you prepare, we will provide you with a copy of the interview questions in advance. Please come ready with any questions you may have about the position or the camp experience.

We aim to make hiring decisions promptly following the interviews, and selected candidates will be notified shortly after that. Successful candidates will be sent electronic paperwork to complete, and employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of a federal background check.

Additionally, we recommend that candidates ensure reliable internet access for the virtual interview and a quiet, distraction-free environment.
